Commission custom
original art for your home
MY PROCESS
Your moment.
Now on canvas.
1. Choose your size
Select your preferred painting size and pay the non-refundable commission consultation fee to begin planning your piece.
This fee covers the time spent reviewing your idea, references, size, orientation, timeline, shipping needs, and overall fit. If you move forward with the commission, it will be applied toward your final artwork price.
2. Share your story + photos
After checkout, you’ll receive a short questionnaire where you can upload reference photos and tell me more about your vision.
I’ll review everything and send back any additional references, moodboards, or questions so we’re aligned before the painting begins.
3. Confirm the details
Once the direction feels right, we’ll confirm the final size, orientation, timeline, shipping details, and remaining balance.
Your studio position is officially secured once the commission agreement is signed and the remaining balance is paid.
4. Enjoy your painting!
Before shipping, I’ll send a near-finished update so you can see how the piece is coming together.
Once the oil paint has safely dried, your painting will be carefully packaged and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Figurative commissions can begin with a person, memory, feeling, or story you’d love to turn into a painting.
-
Not at all. The figure can be you, someone you love, or simply represent a chapter or version of yourself.
If you have reference images or ‘creative ideas’, you’re encouraged to share them during your initial consultation. -
Every commission begins with a paid, nonrefundable consultation. We’ll spend that time talking through your story, references, composition, palette, symbolism, and what you want the piece to feel like. I’ll use that conversation to shape the creative direction and determine the right size, complexity, and approach for the painting.
-
I’ll turn everything we discussed into a custom moodboard that guides the pose, palette, tone, symbolism, and overall visual direction. You’ll have up to two rounds to refine the moodboard before we lock in the concept. It’s meant to establish the feeling and direction of the piece — not serve as a literal blueprint for the final painting.
-
You’ll approve the creative direction before I start. From there, I take the lead so the finished work still feels like one of my paintings.
Near completion, I’ll send one review with one round of minor refinements included. Major changes to the pose, composition, palette, subject, or overall concept aren’t part of that final review.
-
It depends on size, but commissions often take 2–4 weeks of painting, about a week for finishing touches, 2–4 weeks for the oil paint to dry and be varnished, and 1–2 weeks for shipping.
Oil paint has its own timeline, so I’ll always give you my best estimate rather than rush a piece before it’s ready.
